Paint Boz Guild of Littleton

Paint Box Guild of Littleton is a unique art guild founded in 1973 by Lucille Grisham. The membership is limited to forty members. The Guild maintains a varied membership of professional and amateur artists working in all art mediums. The goal of the Guild is to provide artistic support and camaraderie while encouraging the members to pursue individual accomplishments. The Guild promotes the creation of original fine art by its members. Our membership is actively involved in showing art, both individually and as a group, at a wide venue of locations in the Denver Metro area. Business meetings are held the 1st Wednesdays September to May at First Presbyterian Church in Littleton, Colorado or through ZOOM when we are not able to gather. Monthly workshops include instruction from a variety of talented Colorado artists providing an opportunity for Paint Box members to experience different expressions of art. Throughout the year, members paint together on Wednesdays in the basement of the church. Plein Air outings are always favorite opportunities for our membership. Paint Box Guild holds an annual all-member juried show promoting the highest standards of originality and composition. The juror is carefully selected from artists who are well known and respected in the Colorado area.

  • Who are the people you connect with in a lifetime? When they are your fellow artists and you love their art as well as who they are as human beings, perhaps the bond is even stronger? In this exhibition, Zing Credit Union member Genevieve Waller brings together works by artists who she admires and values as friends. When mortality looms, it is our sparks of connection, emotional ties, and creative lives that sustain us.

  • Meet Trenda, a talented photographer based in Denver, Colorado. She lives in the city with her husband, Skip, and their adorable Yorkie, Leo. Trenda has two daughters—one who also calls Denver home, and the other in San Francisco. Creativity has always been a big part of her life, and with her family’s support, she’s been able to turn her passion for art into a thriving business.

While photography is her main focus, Trenda is curious about other art forms too. She enjoys experimenting with watercolor, drawing, digital art, sewing, and most recently, encaustic painting. Travel is another passion of hers that continuously inspires her creative journey.

  • Marla Sullivan has been part of Denver’s art scene since 1977, bringing a unique perspective from her NYC roots. With a BFA from MSU and studies under prominent local artists at the Student Art League, she’s developed a style that’s all her own. Her paintings are vivid and engaging, using intense colors and bold brushstrokes to capture flowers and landscapes in ways that invite a second look. Marla believes each viewer brings their own story to her work, and she loves that everyone sees something different. Her art is an invitation—a vibrant window into the world, open to each viewer’s interpretation.

  • Fresh Prints of Denver is a collection of works by Metropolitan State University of Denver intermediate Printmaking students. In this exhibition, students explore and expand upon traditonal methods of printmaking, while capturing a variety of contemporary concepts, forms, and unique techniques. Printmaking is a centuries-old and versatile medium that allowsartists to materialize their design once, but utilize that material to produce multiples. The accessiblity of producing multiple copies enables artists to engage both locally and at large, with the contemporary urban dialogue. It leaves room both for technical replicas and unique experimentations. The students in this exhibition utilize materials and methods like linoleum, woodblock, and silkscreen. “Relief’ print-making involves carving a design into a material, where only the non-carved spaces leave ink on paper. Relief is a marriage of three-dimensional labor and two-dimensional product. Silkscreen, alternatively, makes use of photo emulsion to create ink-blocking stencils. It provides more freedom, allowing artist to recreate photographic images and drawings in an alternative way.
