Zing Credit Union requires all vehicles financed to carry auto insurance coverage with a $1,000 deductible or less where Zing Credit Union is named as the lienholder. Insurance coverage is routinely checked. If it is indicated that your insurance has lapsed or your coverage has dropped from the acceptable level, the credit union has the right to place Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) on your vehicle. This is an added monthly fee that is charged until proof of insurance, loss payable and deductible are provided to the credit union.
-
Collateral Protection Insurance is coverage that protects against physical damage and protects the credit unionâs interest in your vehicle (your loanâs collateral).
Your signed loan documents give Zing Credit Union the right to force-place CPI on your vehicle when coverage has lapsed. To avoid CPI, it is important to inform your insurance provider to name Zing Credit Union as the âLoss Payee/Lienholderâ on your policy. To mail insurance verification, please use the following address:
Zing Credit Union
1075 Acoma St.
Denver, CO 80204CPI is not a substitute for finding your own insurance. It is often much more expensive than auto insurance you would find from typical providers.  CPI does not provide protection for third-party bodily harm or injury, or to other property. CPI only protects the vehicle as the collateral of the loan. If you are in need of insurance or would like to shop around for a better deal, check out Trustage to get a free quote.
To provide proof of insurance, please visit any branch location. If you received a letter about missing insurance or a lack of insurance coverage, you can provide proof of insurance electronically by visiting https://zingcu.imcovered.com.

GAP is Guaranteed Asset Protection and is often added or sold at the time of loan closing. It covers the difference between what insurance covers and the amount you owe on your loan should your vehicle be totaled. Even the best insurance may not cover the entire amount you owe on an auto loan. In fact, if the average new car owner has his or her vehicle stolen or damaged beyond repair, they could still owe thousands of dollars after the insurance settlement. GAP will help fill the remaining balance of your loan and what insurance pays. Plus with Zingâs GAP Advantage, youâll get back on the road more quickly with a $1,000 allowance to finance a replacement vehicle with us.
Â
To learn more about GAP Advantage, call 303-573-1170 or contact us.
Â
*Guaranteed Asset Protection is considered insurance coverage in some states.
Your purchase of GAP is optional. Â Whether or not you purchase GAP will not affect your application for credit or the terms of any existing credit agreement you have with the financial institution. Â There are eligibility requirements, conditions, and exclusions that could prevent you from receiving benefits under GAP. Â You should carefully read the contract for a full explanation of the terms.

While weâre processing your application, please be careful to avoid these common actions that could impact a successful closing:
- Large purchases. Please wait until after your closing to purchase furniture or a new car.
- Major life changes. If youâre considering a new job, a change in marital status or even a long vacation, please talk to us first so we can discuss how it may affect your loan.
- New credit of any sort. A new card may be a great way to save 10% at purchase, but it could also lower your credit score and delay your closing.
- Random deposits into your bank accounts, especially those made in cash. Deposits must be documented properly to prove they are not borrowed funds.
- Late payments. Even after your credit is pulled, continue making all your payments on time. Your credit will be monitored during the process of your loan.
Most importantly, come to us with your questions. Weâre here to help and are happy to do so.

Internet Browsers are Part of Your Financial Security Plan

As online fraud continues to evolve, browsers must become more secure with each release to help ensure your safety. No matter what browser you use, make sure you have the latest version installed.
Â
Internet Explorer is Not a Recommended Browser
Due to Microsoftâs recommendation, on March 23, 2021, members will not be able to access Zing Credit Unionâs online banking using Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11).

Your Security Matters to Us
Zing cares about security and your online banking experience. IE 11âs developer, Microsoft, recommends discontinuing the use of Internet Explorer. In addition to online banking, Microsoft recommends using other browsers for searching or using the internet. Microsoftâs new browser, Edge, is an âevergreenâ browser, meaning that it will not require users to initiate updates.

SavvyMoney is a comprehensive Credit Score program offered by your financial institution, that helps you stay on top of your credit. You get your latest credit score and report, an understanding of key factors that impact the score, and can see the most up to date offers that can help reduce your interest costs. With this program, you always know where you stand with your credit and how your financial institution can help save you money.
Credit Score also monitors your credit report daily and informs you by email if there are any big changes detected such as: a new account being opened, change in address or employment, a delinquency has been reported or an inquiry has been made. Monitoring helps users keep an eye out for identity theft.
-
SavvyMoney Credit Report provides you all the information you would find on your credit file including a list of open loans, accounts and credit inquiries. You will also be able to see details on your payment history, credit utilization and public records that show up on your account. Like Credit Score, when you check your credit report, there will be no impact to your score.
-
SavvyMoney pulls your credit profile from TransUnion, one of the three major credit reporting bureaus, and uses VantageScore 3.0, a credit scoring model developed collaboratively by the three major credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. This model seeks to make score information more uniform between the three bureaus to provide consumers a better picture of their credit health.
-
No. SavvyMoney is entirely free and no credit card information is required to register.
-
There are three major credit-reporting bureausâEquifax, Experian and Transunionâand two scoring modelsâFICO or VantageScoreâthat determine credit scores. Financial institutions use different bureaus, as well as their own scoring models. Over 200 factors of a credit report may be taken into account when calculating a score and each model may weigh credit factors differently, so no scoring model is completely identical. No matter what credit bureau or credit scoring model is used, consumers do fall into specific credit ranges: Excellent 781â850, Good 661-780, Fair 601-660, Unfavorable 501-600, Bad Below 500.
-
SavvyMoney uses bank level encryption and security measures to keep your data safe and secure. Your personal information is never shared with or sold to a third party.
-
SavvyMoney Credit Score can help you manage your credit so when it comes time to borrow for a big-ticket purchaseâlike buying a home, car or paying for collegeâyou have a clear picture of your credit health and can qualify for the lowest possible interest rate. Youâll also see offers on how you can save money on your new and existing loans with Zing Credit Union.
-
The SavvyMoney Credit Score makes its best effort to show you the most relevant information from your credit report. If you think that some of the information is wrong or inaccurate, we encourage you to take advantage of obtaining free credit reports from www.annualcreditreport.com, and then pursuing with each bureau individually. Each bureau has its own process for correcting inaccurate information but every user can âFile a Disputeâ by clicking on the âDisputeâ link within their SavvyMoney Credit Report. However, The Federal Trade Commission website offers step-by-step instructions on how to contact the bureaus and correct errors.
-
Based on your SavvyMoney Credit Score information, you may receive Zing Credit Union offers on products that may be of interest to you. In most cases, these offers may have lower interest rates than the products you already have. The educational articles, written by Jean Chatzky and the SavvyMoney team, are designed to provide helpful tips on how you can manage credit and debt wisely.
Secured Card
-
There is no need for large purchases, simple small purchases with subsequent payments made on time will work.
-
Your on-time payments count towards your positive payment history, just like a regular credit card.* On-time payments can make up for 35% of your credit score.
-
Our Secured Credit Card is backed up by your savings accountâ âthatâs why it doesnât require any existing credit to open. Hereâs how it works:
You set aside funds in a special savings account.
The money you set aside determines your credit limit. So if you set aside $500, youâll have a $500 credit limit.
You make monthly payments, just like any other credit card.
You build (or repair) your credit. Your on-time payments count towards your positive payment history, just like a regular credit card. -

TRUTH IN SAVINGS DISCLOSURE
Except as specifically described, the following disclosures apply to all the accounts.
- Rate Information. The dividend rate, or interest rate, and annual percentage yield on your accounts are set forth on the reverse side. The annual percentage yield is a percentage rate that reflects the total amount of dividends/interest to be paid on an account based on the dividend/interest rate and frequency of compounding for an annual period. For Certificates of Deposit and IRA Certificates of Deposit, the interest rate and annual percentage yield are fixed and will be in effect for the term of the account. The annual percentage yield is based on an assumption that interest will remain on deposit until maturity. A withdrawal will reduce earnings.
- Nature of Dividends. Dividends are paid from current income and available earnings after providing for the required reserves. The dividend rates and annual percentage yields are the prospective rates and yields that the Credit Union anticipates paying for the applicable dividend period.
- Compounding and Crediting. Interest and dividends will be compounded and credited as set forth on the reverse side. The dividend/interest period for each account is also set forth on our Rate and Fee Schedule. The dividend/interest period begins on the first calendar day of the period and ends on the last calendar day of the period.
- Balance Information. The minimum balance required to open each account is set forth. Interest is calculated by the daily balance method which applies a daily periodic rate to the principal in the account each day.
- Accrual of Dividends. Dividends will begin to accrue on cash deposits on the business day you make the deposit to your account. Dividends will begin to accrue on noncash deposits (checks) on the business day you make the deposit to your account. If you close your account before accrued dividends are credited, accrued dividends will not be paid.
- Account Limitations. The account limitations for each account are set forth in our Membership and Account Agreement
- Your account will mature on the maturity date set forth on your account receipt or renewal notice.
- Early Withdrawal Penalties. A penalty may be imposed if you withdraw any of the certificate funds before the maturity date or the renewal date, if this is a renewal account.
- Amount of Penalty. For Certificates of Deposit and IRA Certificates of Deposit the amount of the early withdrawal penalty for your account is 90 daysâ interest for a term of 12 months or less, and 180 daysâ interest for a term over 12 months.
- How the Penalty Works. The penalty is calculated as a forfeiture of part or all of the interest that have been earned on the account. This penalty applies to earned interest and principal.
- Renewal Policy. Certificate of Deposit accounts will automatically renew for another term upon maturity. You have a grace period of seven days in which to change or withdraw the funds without being charged an early withdrawal penalty.
- Exception to Early Withdrawal Penalties. At our option, we may redeem the account before maturity without imposing an early withdrawal penalty under the following circumstances:
- When an account owner dies
- or is determined legally incompetent by a court
- or other body of competent jurisdiction.
- Nontransferable / Nonnegotiable. Your account is nontransferable and nonnegotiable. The funds in your account may not be pledged to secure any obligation of an owner except obligations with the Credit Union.
- FEES FOR OVERDRAWN ACCOUNTS. Fees may be imposed on each check, draft item, ATM card withdrawal, debit card withdrawal, debit card point of purchase, preauthorized automatic debit, telephone initiated withdrawal or any other electronic withdrawal or transfer transaction that is drawn on an insufficient available account balance. The entire balance in your account may not be available for withdrawal, transfer or payment of a check, draft or item. You may consult the Funds Availability Policy for information regarding the availability of funds in your account. Fees for overdrawing your account may be imposed for each overdraft, item or transaction. If we have approved an overdraft protection limit for your account, such fees may reduce your approval limit. Please refer to the Rate and Fee Schedule for current fee information.
